Brighton Beach Memoirs

Brighton Beach has been POSTPONED. We will announce more details in the near future. Feel free to email us with questions: WestmontPerformingArts@gmail.com.

Performances were scheduled for Friday, March 20 at 7pm and Saturday, March 21 at 3pm and 7pm.

Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs is a semi-autobiographical comedic drama that recounts the love and laughter, strain and struggle of a Jewish family living in Brooklyn in 1937. The story is told through the eyes of 15 year old, Eugene Morris Jerome. Eugene shares his most private thoughts with the audience though his “fourth wall” breaking “memoirs” which provide an uncensored comedic view of girls, puberty, relationships, foul language, and responsibility. You’ll feel like a member of their extended family as they draw you into their lives while dealing with financial stress, illness, lost jobs, hurt feelings and the rise of WW II. You’ll quickly learn how a family that fights together and laughs together will always stay together.

Chris Miles proudly returns to WPA to direct this favorite Neil Simon gem.
