The show is for kids ages 7-15. We will cast everyone with some sort of a featured role: lines, a solo, dance or featured action.
\nAuditions will consist of a short dance combination, then the kids will be called to sing part of a song and read a short excerpt from the script<\/p>\n

Please look at the songs below, and choose the one that you sing the best. It might not be your favorite! For your audition, you will sing with an accompaniment track that has no other singers. Please also choose an excerpt from the script to prepare. You do not need to memorize these. Let us know if you can tap dance!<\/p>\n

YouTube has the original cartoons as well as versions of the show to watch.<\/p>\n

If you want extra help to prepare, we will have an audition workshop on Sunday, September 8 from 2-5pm. Pre-register on the Park District website<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Monologue 1: When I started out, I wasn\u2019t even a Bill \u2013 I was just an idea. Some folks back home decided they wanted a law passed. So they called their local congressman and he said \u201cYou\u2019re right! There ought to be a law!\u201d Then he sat down, wrote me out, and introduced me to Congress, and I became a bill. And I\u2019ll remain a bill until they decide to make me a law!<\/p>\n

Monologue 2: Good morning, class. I\u2019m your new teacher Mr Mizer. No, that\u2019s terrible. I don\u2019t know why I\u2019m so nervous this morning. I mean, I have a degree. I love children. There\u2019s no reason why I won\u2019t be a great teacher. I\u2019ll be fine. They\u2019re only 8 year olds. I remember what it\u2019s like to be 8\u2026I think\u201d<\/p>\n

Monologue 3: That was one of my favorite songs! I\u2019ve forgotten how much I learned on Saturday mornings between bowls of Cocoa Puffs. It was a Schoolhouse Rock Song that helped me pass Mr. Down\u2019s Constitution exam. An entire classroom of people snag together.<\/p>\n

Monologue 4: Good, Tom, Good. But don\u2019t forget that English isn\u2019t the first language of many of your new students. You have a lot of students from other countries nad cultures. You will be a very important part in their transition to America. That\u2019s what\u2019s so exciting, You have as much to learn from them as they have to learn from you.
